What equipment do I actually need?
A smartphone capable of recording video is the minimum. The curriculum also covers how to use a basic clip-on lavalier microphone (available for under $30) and free editing software. More equipment helps, but it is not a prerequisite for starting.
Do I need any prior filmmaking experience?
No. The curriculum is designed for storytellers who are new to filmmaking. Some familiarity with your smartphone's camera is useful, but no technical background is assumed. The lessons build from foundational principles.
How long does the curriculum take to complete?
That depends entirely on your pace and how much time you invest in the practical exercises. The lessons themselves can be read in a few hours per module. The exercises, which involve actually filming, take considerably longer. Most learners complete the full curriculum over several weeks.
